Privacy
Paperbay collects nothing. It reads your documents on your Mac, and this page says what it keeps and where.
Your documents
Paperbay reads the documents you give it and the folders you choose for your filing. Text recognition and Apple Intelligence run on your Mac; Paperbay never sends a document to Private Cloud Compute, and the app has no network access. It renames and moves files only inside the folders you chose and never changes what is inside a PDF.
What Paperbay keeps
In its own storage on your Mac: the recognized text, the fields it read, the index that Spotlight, Siri and the search in the app use, which reminder belongs to which document, and a list of what it filed. All of it can be built again from your folders. Inside your filing it writes one readable file with the rules it learned.
Your iCloud
The Paperbay folder in iCloud Drive belongs to your iCloud account, and what you save there syncs like any other file in iCloud Drive. How many documents Paperbay has filed for free is stored in your iCloud as well, so a new installation finds the count again. Apple keeps both under your Apple Account. I cannot see them.
Reminders and Calendar
With your permission, Paperbay adds reminders to the list “Paperbay” in Reminders, and events to Calendar only if you switch that on. When it files a document by itself, a notification asks whether you want a reminder. You can take each permission back at any time in System Settings.
The App Store
Paperbay comes from the Mac App Store, so downloading it and buying the full version happen between you and Apple. What reaches me is Apple’s sales report: how many copies and purchases, in which country, counted up and never tied to a person.
This website
This site sets no cookies and has no analytics or tracking pixels. Fonts and scripts come from this server only. The page is static and hosted by Cloudflare Pages, which keeps server logs including IP addresses in order to serve it. The start address paperbay.app reads the language your browser asks for and sends you to that version of the site; nothing of it is stored.
Apart from an email you send me, I hold nothing about you that I could show you, correct or delete. Questions and corrections go to support@missaq.com. When this page changes, the date below changes with it.
