The app in three lengths
Short
Paperbay reads scanned and downloaded documents on the Mac, files them into your own folders under the names you would give them, and turns printed deadlines into reminders.
Medium
Paperbay reads scanned and downloaded documents on the Mac and files them into the folders you already have. It learns from your filing how you sort and name things, files on its own only where it has proven itself, and asks about the rest. Printed deadlines become reminders. Text recognition and Apple Intelligence run on the device, and the app has no network access.
Long
Paperbay puts each document where you would have put it. Save a scan to the Paperbay folder in iCloud Drive or drop a PDF on the app, and Paperbay reads it on the Mac: Vision recognizes the text, Apple Intelligence reads sender, kind and person with Apple’s model on the device. From the folders you already have, it learns where documents go and how you name them, and it writes those rules into a readable file inside your filing. It files a document by itself only on a route that was right three times and never corrected; everything else waits in Review with a suggestion and the reason. Printed deadlines become reminders, and Spotlight and Siri find any filed document by kind, sender, person or a word inside it. Your folders stay ordinary Finder folders, so deleting the app leaves a tidy filing behind. The first 50 documents are free, then one purchase unlocks filing.
